I genuinely wept from queer joy

Warning: Spoilers
This show was a gift from Sappho to heal the queer community from years of tv baiting and burying us.

Let's start with Izzy. Con O'Neill absolutely nailed every tiny expression and movement of someone dealing with internalized homophobia. We see that initial resistance and feelings of shame. It's something that takes a long time to unlearn. But then you put on your makeup and sing while your friends cheer you on and you finally feel accepted.

Drag is so often used as a punchline, and for OFMD to have literally two of the most masculine characters on the show dress in drag and be showered in praise and acclaim by their friends, their found family- it's more than I could ever imagine.

That scene(while unfortunately brief, thanks a lot Ned) where Izzy sings La Vie En Rose and kisses Wee John's hand while Roach dances with Fang and Archie, Olu, and Jim dance together and Ed and Stede have their quiet moment- I've never seen anything that better encapsulated queer joy. That was the heart of the show for me, probably my favorite scene in the entire show. Queerness is community, it's found family, it's that feeling of knowing that you are safe, and you are loved.
