I must have been 8 when I watched this series and along with Doctor Who it created some of my most vivid television memories. Some stories are better than others but all are filmed in a manner unique to 70s television. It's like watching a play rather than the programme of today.
Some familiar faces pop up as well which adds to the nostalgia. Perhaps my continued fondness for Beasts is because I watched it as a child, so I have a connection with it that someone watching it for the first time may not have. In one episode, I remember my Mum telling me to look away during the final scenes but I sneaked a peek through the gap in my fingers. Because I had not seen the whole of the creature, added to the panic in my Mum's voice, this is my most vivid memory. Of course, the horror does not have the same effect watching it now as it did then.
