DIrk Bogarde was a fine actor; he made several excellent films. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. It was the worst film he ever made; primarily due to the terrible storyline and screenplay. The acting by the vast majority of the cast is hammier than a German deli. The female roles are on the verge of being hysterical. The roles of the police are as stereotypical as you can get, as are the situations in the film. The purports to be a mystery, but my eleven year old son figured it out in fifteen minutes, and he is not a big fan of mysteries. There really is no mystery in this turkey. You will figure it out quickly as well; all you need do is consider the motive. Don't waste your time on this squawky British bore.
