She's resisted even the thought of it until she realizes that she's got to jack up her income to afford to send her gifted daughter to an expensive private school. Despite ignoring every piece of advice from the narrow-minded station owner desperate to reinforce late-'50s to early-'60s stereotypes of stay-at-home mothers and submissive wives, her show is instantly a hit (& not surprisingly to anyone with half a brain) with those very same bored and forgotten wives

While some elaborate technical explanations are more than basic meal preparation require, her sincere belief that what women provide daily for their families is not only undeniably worthwhile, but also worth doing very, very well strikes a chord. In a personal level, we can already start to sense her daughter's growing resentment of her career.
