Family Guy: Fore, Father (2000)
Season 2, Episode 21
8/10
Season Two Review

Seems, for now at least, like I am still going to carry on ploughing through these 400 episodes of "Family Guy".

Quahog's favourite family return for a second run. Peter's dad (Charles Durning) is introduced to the proceedings. Death (Norm McDonald) comes for Peter, but injures his ankle and asks Peter to take over. Brian (Seth MacFarlane) and Stewie (Seth MacFarlane) take the first of their many "Road to" trips and Peter (Seth MacFarlane) goes undercover at the school to stop the epidemic of licking Toads, that's putting children at risk.

Despite this being the first full season of "Family Guy" and a critical hit, this would make the first time that the show was cancelled, though it received a reprieve for a third season in the end. There are a lot more songs in this season that in the first, as well as the first times the show dared to do a gag based on how long they could get away with a relatively innocuous action (Peter hurting his shin). Across the run (due to scheduling issues) Meg turns from being voiced by Lacey Chabet, to Mila Kunis, who has voiced the character ever since.

There's not much more to say other than, at this point, the show is still pretty good. In fact, based on what I've seen from the subsequent seasons (which isn't everything by any means) this might be the shows pinnacle.
