This movie was a hard watch, not because it was scary or because it was too gory or anything like that. It was hard to watch because of one of the characters. The guy was so genuinely annoying it was hard to not want to just stop the movie and put it off. All he did was scream and shout like he was at some kind of comedy show - he wasn't funny, he wasn't likeable and offered absolutely nothing to the movie. Despite being one of the leads, if not the absolute lead.
The genre has been done to death. The whole group of friends going to a haunted house/area type scenario. Done right there is a lot of movies can still be got out of it and enjoyed.
Sadly, it was not going to be possible with this excruciating performance from one of the actors. In fact, if that's his style would avoid at all costs. Trying to be a mixture of Kevin Hart/ Christ Tucker or something and just came across weird.
Anyone that gets enjoyment out of this movie is at it.
