My husband forces me to watch this. The ham handed ridiculous storylines are neither scary, nor thrilling. They aren't sad or touching or funny or based on any actually reality. Just far-fetched and circus like entertainment. I guess it's the same people who think Yellowstone is brilliant writing who love this series as well. There's just no accounting for people's taste. I'm sad that my opinion is in the minority in this crazy world. Or maybe it's a badge of honor at this particular point in history.
