This episode is my happy place of season two. It's like a warm, rich soup of queer love and joy. Wee John in drag as Calypso is a delight and Izzy in singing La vie en Rose heals my heart every time.
I return to this episode if I want to feel comforted and relaxed, and it delivers each time. Even though there are some dark themes with Ned Low, I still consider this the happiest episode of season 2.
It's an episode that really showcases the brilliance of all the cast, and how all the different characters come together and form a rich tapestry of the variety of the human experience.
My only regret is that we didn't get to witness a dance between Ed and Stede.
