Too many reasons why I felt like this wasted my time. I think the kicker was when Diane Keaton walks out fragile with cancer and has to be held up - in heels. You can't tell there have been years in between when these characters come together again and again. Sam Shepard is so blah throughout. And Keaton's character starts out a free-spirited, no strings, 70's woman, only to find out later she's harbored resentment for years that he didn't beg her to stay. Disjointed, no chemistry, and ancillary, one-dimensional characters in the periphery. Truly disappointing. Tried too hard to have a similar feel as "Same Time/Next Year" but it misses completely.
