A Very Special Indy Episode
9 December 2023
It had all the elements of an Indiana Jones movie with the tone, the mood, the funny bits, and Harrison Ford so if this is indeed the last film in the series with Ford then it was a nice send off for the actor. The MacGuffin and the main villain was kind of beside the point of the film.

It was more like a "A Very Special Episode" on TV where a long running character deviates from the usuall to make a point about something (like a main character taking drugs). I liked the film but then I've been a fan since the first one in 1981.

I thought Phoebe Waller-Bridge did a great job as a mix of Indy and Marion from the series and wasn't just fluff. I also liked that you really didn't know if she was hero or villain through most of the film.

The cameos also were a nice touch and I liked how they created new material for the flashback and de-aged Ford.

The one point that disappointed me was the very violent killings that took place. Usually in these types of films when people are killed it is done more abstractly but in this film several characters were killed matter-of-fact and violently with guns.

Overall this was a nice finish to a classic series.
