I watched this movie in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, in September 2023.
This cinema theatre was very nice, and I enjoyed the movie (documentary movie) What stroke me in "20 Days in Mariupol" is that you really feel the level of violence that happened in the town. A town almost fully destroyed by the russians.
It shows the reality of everyday life, how people had to survive, to hide, to protect themselves.
I talked in August 2023 with a Ukrainian refugee in France, who came from Mariupol (so it was before watching the movie) and she told me several shocking things, but true: "Sometimes, when I was in a shelter during the bombings, I dreamed I wanted to die" and "I was learning French in the corridors during the night and people thought I was crazy" The whole world has still not understand that this war is a war that we thought could not exist anymore: a war to erase a whole country. To erase the largest european country (given the fact russia is geographically in Europe and in Asia) and Ukraine only in Europe.
As a conclusion, I highly recommend this documentary. War in 2022 in Europe. Dark days but hope and Ukraine will always live.
