I enjoy a certain kind of bad horror, and for me this film ticks the right boxes for that. It was a lot of fun. It may be very low budget, and the especial effects look like they have been dragged up from a much earlier time, but in a nostalgic way.
However it's entertaining, and campy, and the acting is pretty decent too. The story overall was basic, but the mythos of the water demon was interesting. The house has a Lovecraften vibe to me, and I liked that. The exorcist was hilarious and really cracked me up.
He was the most stand out character though, and I feel a down side to this is there is little to no character development.
But some hilarious deaths are to be had.
