After two exciting episodes, "A Dim Light Amid Despair" is a change of pace but it serves its purpose. It's not a filler episode, but more like a transitional episode for much bigger things to come. It was a very enjoyable episode that focuses on our main characters' training and introduces some new characters to the mix. There are some interesting ones that I'd like to see more of. There's not much to write home about as the main focus here is the interactions between the new characters and Eren's story of mastering his gear. I need to mention just how good the scenery looks. The animation perfectly captures the world. Good stuff but a less exciting episode when compared to its predecessors.
