The suspicious death of an old army comrade, Calvin Franz. He was part of Reacher's special investigative team.
It is not long for Reacher to figure that Franz had been tortured before being thrown to his death from a helicopter to somewhere in the Catskill mountains.
Strangely, Reacher and Neagley cannot get into contact with other former member of their investigative unit. Someone is targeting them.
It starts out interestingly enough, Reacher comes to the aid of a woman who has been carjacked. There is humour, one of the shady men is played by Robert Patrick. He has no idea who Sarah Connor is, an alias used by Neagley.
It did lag a bit here and there. The first episode had to set out its story and install some red herrings. It was noticeable how quickly Reacher manages to deduct the clues.
