Three abandoned kids show up at FYI with a note from their mother, who has requested that Murphy take over their care.
This script is way too cloying for this show and is beneath the cast. This is something you'd expect from a Miller-Milkis show - not one of CBS' hot new sophisticated comedies.. It's way too cliché: the grinchy character is turned into a softie on Xmas because of some unfortunate children.
In the final scene, Phil arrives at Murphy's house dressed as Santa, and presents her with a pony. What on earth is she supposed to do with it in Washington?
The funniest part is when Eldin takes Murphy and the kids to Washington Crab House and their dialog starts to sound like that of a bickering married couple. The last scene at the office party has Frank turning off the Xmas music so they can all start dancing to Motown tunes. 5/10.
