Review of Echo

Echo (2023–2024)
10/10
Beautiful & Exciting
11 January 2024
As a straight white man, let me tell you: don't listen to the people rating this poorly. It's just the usual white boy edgelords who can't stand to consume any media that isn't about them.

Echo is a beautiful exploration of generational trauma and wisdom, infused into an exciting side story of the greater Marvel universe. Sure, it's clearly used at least in part as set up, presumably for an upcoming reboot of Daredevil. But it's also a fantastic show in it's own right. It showcases disabilities without having them define the characters, it explores native American culture in a way that is compelling, and not exploitative, and it tells an interesting, emotional story along the way. And if you're only here to see kicky-kicky punchy-punch, there's plenty of that to go around as well.

Echo is, if you ask me, one of the best Marvel shows, and definitely worth watching.
