I was so enthralled with the entirety of this episode. I think I've watched Izzy sing La Vie En Rose more times than I can count now. This show is honestly a cut above the rest. This episode was ambitious, joyful, and really shined a light on the ins and outs of love and queerness. The themes are complex, maybe moreso than one would think, but they were executed beautifully. David Jenkins saw what he had to do to make it sparkle (quite literally!) and said, "okay but let me go beyond that" and we have this gem of an episode. Even more of a reason why we are in desperate need of a season 3. More beautiful stories like this one are called for. Lovely job.
