Well, everyone is right. It's boring. It's hard to listen to the actors speaking their sign language because they speak it as slowly as they're signing. Actress playing Echo has no facial expressions at all, though she seems to have the action moves all right (unless that was a stunt double). After finishing the season we're still not sure what this show was trying to accomplish. Other than showing me that Maya was a Native American, there was no new character development for her beyond what I'd seen in Hawkeye. (I don't read the comics.) Ooh, she now has ancestor magic, yay.
I also didn't watch Daredevil, but always had the impression that Kingpin was a badass, manipulative guy, very nuanced, with his fingers in a lot of pies in NYC. A guy like that has to be very smart and alert. But if you go by how he's portrayed in Echo, he's simply a violent thug with daddy issues. He didn't seem to have much character to him, and he didn't seem masterful or intelligent.
I've heard there's a season two coming...I won't bother to watch.
