There are a couple of drag-based reality shows on currently. This is the other one. It seems like it might have been based on the ru paul version, just purposely given a downbeat monster pastiche. Whereas ru tries to keep things upbeat and keeps the big drama to a minmum, this one pulls out all the stops. Horror, gross makeup and disgusting tasks to perform in order to stay in the game. This is in addition to the runway shows, where they bring out some weird and inventive outfits for the hosts to critique. This is done in the name of a supposed hidden underworld of drag that's perhaps underserved. Who knows? I sure don't!
Contestants don't just leave the show, they're shown being murdered in various inventive ways. The hosts are a couple of lookalike queens with expensive wardrobes and unlimited colored contact lenses. The extent of the host's "acting" is holding their hands up by their ears with their loooong fingers pointing up, then wiggling them back and forth and cackling menacingly. They do this A LOT! I don't find that either one of them has enough o of a personality to be hosting a show like this. The contestants are far more entertaining.
I found it interesting in small doses. I can't see binging this for very long - it's just toomuch of a downer.
