This game absolutely rules. It sounds very un-Outlasty at first, In a large open map, complete some objectives, go from point A to point B, do it alone or with friends. It sounds nothing like an Outlast game, and I was worried at first, but wow does it work well. It does so much different and still feels like an Outlast. It is so endlessly fun and infinitely replayable. As of release, there are 5 main trials that take about a half hour, one large trial that takes about an hour, and then a bunch of mini trials and challenges, along with there being a hardcore mode and a weekly challenge. It doesn't sound like much but its got incredible replayability, along with new abilities like rigs, amps and prescriptions to make trials even more fun. Run different amp builds and mess around with different rigs. The customization of your "reagent" and asylum cell is pretty fleshed out, and you can even arm wrestle and play chess in the lobby dubbed the "sleep room" between matches. In proper Outlast style, fans like me can get lots of nice prequel lore about Murkoff, and Dr Wernicke even has a cameo. This is everything a multiplayer Outlast should be, no wait, this is everything a multiplayer horror game should be.
