For me, the most touching and profound scene in this episode was Ice Pick considering Magnum a friend. The last time Thomas met him (along with TC), Ice Pick had emphatically stated, "And you two aren't my friends!" (episode with the death of Rick's sister).
Outside of the "Michelle" episodes, this one is one of my favorites. It sees Magnum being used by a hitman to take out a target, nearly leaving Magnum for dead in the process.
There have been moments when we've seen Magnum become obsessed, and despite the series on the whole being relatively light, it was nice to occasionally explore the "darker" side of Magnum; that he could be very capable to wanting simple revenge. At first, he tries to justify it as a pursuit of justice, but even Magnum knows better by the end.
This episode is almost a precursor--a giimpse into Magnum's darker side--before the ultimate revenge episode in the final season: Unfinished Business (easily one of the most powerful and unforgettable episodes of the entire series!
