I was misled by a couple of reviews I scanned before watching this. I can understand this movie is not for everyone, but for me it was a powerful experience. The reviews I mentioned focused on the dynamics and intricacies of couple's relationship, but it goes much deeper than that. They're not wrong, but I'd say it's about the inner being of these two people and their relationship with life itself. It takes on a journey through the trauma experience of one character after a tragic accident.
I haven't seen anything quite like this. In a way it reminded me of Ray Fosse's 'All That Jazz' from 40 years ago.
It's very well done overall. I give it an A+ in pretty much all the key factors: Concept,.editing, writing and acting. I've become an instant fan of both lead actors. Sienna Miller is radiant and so authentic as is Diego Luna. Their performances are integral and - I think essential to the movie because it's the depth of each of these two characters that makes the experience what it is.
