Season 1: an emotional rollercoaster
5 April 2024
Season 1 (2022) follows Team Jumbo Visma troughout the whole season, including the classics and three grand tours.

I got goosebumps and chills at so many moments in this series, because there were so many intense emotional moments, I would really recommend anyone that loves cycling to watch it, as for me this was a true emotional rollercoaster.

In comparison with "Tour de France: Unchained", which was focused on multiple teams and often over-dramatising for the sake of creating a story (even if there wasn't one), here you get 6 episodes of 50 minutes on this team only with the many highs and lows there were in one year.

The story is mainly about the whole team, and you'll hear many insights from inside the team (the coaches, team directors), and from outside the team (like from several jornalist, and race commentators).

However, 4 riders are discussed in more detail Tom Dumoulin, Wout van Aert, Jonas Vingegaard and Primoz Roglic. Interestingly, also their families are often shown and asked about their role and experience, which is a great addition to the story.

Sometimes the story feels like the team's approved version, as the few the controversial moments are being ignored, like Wout's attack in Calais, and Pimoz crashing in the Vuelta and mainly blaming one other rider for this.
