Review of Over the Sea

Over the Sea (2019)
2/10
Fantasy than story itself
25 April 2024
The pursuit of children between reality and fantasy in the film appears ambiguous, leading to a muddled storyline and theme. This blurriness makes it challenging for the audience to grasp clear messages. The excessive use of symbolic design becomes a distraction rather than enhancement, making the characters' motivations hard to comprehend.

The film aims to convey a vast array of messages without effective integration and structure, affecting the coherence and depth of the story. In terms of dramatic performance, there is room for improvement. The dialogue and acting come across as superficial, lacking in-depth exploration of the characters' emotions. Additionally, the excessive use of certain camera angles sometimes overshadows the importance of the story itself.
