Yes, the headline made no sense. Neither did the idea that Lacey, once so proud of "inventing" a club sandwich becomes so tired of serving them up, she shoots her cash cow just to satisfy a hope for people ordering something else off the menu. McDonalds had that problem...so they dropped BBQ and mexican food off their menu and concentrated on what was selling the best. How did that work out?
The point is that even though CG is a quirky humor type of show, sometimes the quirk become simply absurd and can't even garner a smile from the viewer. This plot premise is just one of those instances. Shows that even early on, they were stretching the concept pretty thin.
