I have read the original Bram Stoker novel and one of the creepiest parts of the story was the voyage of the Demeter. This is an excellent retelling of that part of the story.
The visuals really managed to build the almost claustrophobic feel of being trapped on a ship while something horrible is happening. The fear and confusion of the crew that don't know what is happening but know that they and the ship are doomed.
The cast all are all great in their various roles and really sell the escalating terror that they are all feeling trapped aboard the ship.
If there is a gripe, it is a small one, and that is that the film goes a little longer than it really needed to. Still, the movie is an impressive one and really does justice to the Dracula mythos.
