Review of Tarot

Tarot (I) (2024)
2/10
Why this film could of have an R-Rating of "Tarot" would have been more scarier. This was unsatisfied

Tarot is the newest film that comes out The 3rd of May, which why was this a thing? Idk if I would see this Thursday evening at 8:15pm. 2/10 is acceptable because the horror is there but not enough supernatural like EVIL DEAD RISE was. I was predicted that this would have an unrated cut in the physical media release but maybe not or maybe because I would be disappointed, does this film is something that you'll run to buy for $13 ticket? No not for $13, when it comes out on Movie Downloader for free then yes absolutely. So here's the story of what Tarot is about: In the realm of horror cinema, Tarot" emerges as a cinematic attempt that ambitiously seeks to delve into the mystical and often chilling world of tarot card readings. However, despite its promising premise, the film falters significantly in execution, resulting in a final product that is less than enchanting. The narrative, which revolves around a group of college students encountering a malevolent force through a tarot deck, is plagued by predictability and a lack of originality. The film's adherence to conventional horror tropes leaves little room for surprise, and the plot unfolds in a manner that is all too familiar to the genre's aficionados. The ensemble cast delivers with earnestness, but their efforts are undermined by a script that lacks depth and fails to provide a fresh take on the supernatural horror narrative. The characters are thinly written, and their decisions often border on the cliché, detracting from the film's potential to engage and thrill. "Tarot" does offer some not bad moments of intrigue, particularly with the aesthetically pleasing design of the tarot cards themselves. These brief instances, however, are not enough to elevate the overall experience, which is marred by a series of uninspired and formulaic scare sequences. "Tarot" is a film that had the opportunity to explore the rich and dark tapestry of tarot mythology but instead chooses a path well-trodden, leaving viewers with a sense of what could have been. It is a movie that may momentarily distract but ultimately fails to leave a lasting impression or contribute anything noteworthy to the horror genre.
