USAF Major Lincoln Bond (William Holden) was captured during the Korean War. The fighter pilot was tortured and eventually signed a confession. After he was released back to America, he is not trusted by his superior. He gets skipped over for the test pilot program, but he manages to stay in the periphery.
I love the planes. It seems that the film had plenty of help from the Air Force. There is so much cool real world footage. The story is rather take-it-or-leave-it. It may be reality adjacent, but it's not the most compelling. The actors are solid and it does have James Garner in a supporting role.
