Rented this and enjoyed the movie. I feel it was a divided story that couldn't quite capture the struggle of the Mark Walbergs character and team or Arthur's story of survival.
It was an enjoyable movie with some moderate suspense of Marks teammates crossing the gorge. But, I never really got the sense even with all the personal money on the line that his gamble was met with any repercussions for coming in second. The heartbreak of leaving Arthur on the shore for the final leg was emotional. But again was not met with any repercussions even though he was strictly told he could not have Arthur on the boat/ kayak it regardless went back to pick up/ save Arthur.
There were so many plot holes that this movie could've filled the voids to make it a stronger movie.
The outcome was great. The real photos at the end credits was a great highlight.
