The Wrong Daughter (2018 TV Movie)
9/10
She's Sweet but Psycho!

This movie is really enjoyable and was done pretty good considering it was a Lifetime film. But aside from the entertaining plot (a mental unstable girl fakes herself as the long lost daughter of a barren woman), not too much realistic events and relatable characters, I think that who really deserves a praise for her acting skills is Sydneey Sweeney.

Up until 2018, Syd was relatively unknown. She had already done interesting projects (like In the Vault, Dead Ant, Vikes, The Martial Arts Kid, Cssidy Way, Stolen from Subburbia and the 2011's adaptation of The Bling Ring), but nothing compared to what she started to do from that exact year 'til now.

So I'm not surprised by her performance here, but I understand that given her background then her acting as Samantha was really a pleasant surprise. And seeing her as Sam here, I'm not particularly surprised that she landed the role of Cassie on Euphoria. The way she portrays mental-ill characters on the screen is astounding and phenomenal, she can really dive deep into thier twisted minds and embody thier fragilities, fears and conflicts like no one else nowadays. So an excellent work she did!

After all, just in 2018 she did some of her first "hit" roles, in projects like Relentless, Along Came the Devil (which led to Sister Cecilia on Immaculate!), Everything Sucks, Sharp Objects (another Cassie-like character, Alice) nad The Handmaid's Tale (Eden, another nun-like girl like Cecilia). She really deserves more recognition for this role.
