Speak No Evil (2022)
5/10
Really good until the ending, which is an absolute script derail

The story builds up a tense situation really well, slow but still well paced with good performances and decent cinematography.

Up to the reveal near the ending (which I found very creepy and added well to the story), the movie was very good, it'd be like a 7 or 8, depending on the resolution.

From there, the characters acted in an absolutely pathetic, pusillanimous way, totally ruining the whole story.

I really don't know why writers want to tell stories about stupid, lame characters. It's really not interesting. I find this very lazy, I'd love if they'd take more time to come up with a better resolution, something closer to an average person, common sense is highly appreciated. If not the normal guy, pick an extreme personality that can be interesting.

I get it, different people would react differently to extreme situations, I know that from experience, but why telling stories about the lamest if there's no point other than make them easy victims and serve the shock factor? It's really frustrating and it will inspire nothing to no one.

Maybe I didn't get what the story was trying to say, but as it stands, looking as simple as it looks, it's just a lazy ending and it ruined everything for me.

A shameful waste of a chance.
