The glory of love doesn't point towards the party host.

Warning: Spoilers
I was never a fan of Charley Chase and he is very unfunny in Fu Manchu gear with the long mustache that on him looks like it's about to come off at any minute. This Technicolor short has nothing in common with the 1934 feature, although the cameos of real stars in this was lacking there.

You've got Joe E. Brown, finally free from his Warner Brothers, making his first MGM film (14 years before "Show Boat"), giving his trademark yell, Anna May Wong (in spite of not getting the lead in "The Good Earth"), Leon Errol, who along with Edgar Kennedy probably appeared in more movie comedy shorts than anybody.

A few stars with no lines have quick camera flashed on them. Mostly it's a display of MGM chorus girls in a variety of Asian themed costumes and some really eye rollingly bad comedy. I'll call this a product of its time and leave it at that.
