A conservationist working to preserve the Franklin River in Tasmania from a threatened hydro-electric dam comes to Sydney and meets a woman whose life is totally different from his. The contrast in the location shooting in Sydney and the wilderness of south-west Tasmania heightens the conflict in their developing relationship.
