Helen only has one condition to grant Gil the divorce; that during the next month he will carry her down the stairs, from the bed to the door, as they did the first day. Her son Alan is in the last month of the course and Helen does not want this to affect him. Gil agrees, and each day, the love they once felt for each other begins to resurface.
