Ranjeet and Maya study at the same college and fall in love. Ranjeet's father Aabasaheb and Maya's father Raut both agree to the marriage. Aabasaheb had paid heavy dowry for his daughter's wedding so he demands a heavy dowry from Raut--which he can't afford, which starts a rift between the two. Ranjeet and Maya can't live without each other and decide to elope.
