This is a very complicated two part picture, the plot of which hinges on the attempt to secure a valuable scarab by a gang of crooks. It contains many interesting and gripping scenes, especially the interior of an underground room and the interior of a sewer through which the heroine makes her escape after being incarcerated by the gang; she is rescued through a manhole by some laborers. Several realistic fights occur. It is finely acted and photographed. - The Moving Picture World, July 4, 1914
