- A man and a woman discuss kissing techniques, and briefly kiss before they are interrupted.
- Several women in skirts perform a musical dance routine. In the 1800s, the dance would have been considered somewhat provocative, but is very tame even by 1950s standards. No direct sexual innuendo.
- A man prepares to explain the "birds and the bees" to his young adult granddaughter, but finds it too awkward and is unable to actually tell her anything useful. The scene is played for laughs and contains no actual sexual talk.

- Quite a number of people, including several Native Americans on horseback, are shot and killed on screen. No blood, but we see them fall off their horses.
- A man falls off a moving train and down a steep cliff to his death, hitting several rocks on the way down. The scene was obviously shot with a dummy. No blood, but we do briefly hear him scream as he falls.
- A man is tied to a chair and strapped to the side of a locomotive against his will. He is released later. Like much of the milder violence in this film, the scene is played for laughs.
- A woman threatens to injure a man with a knife. We later see him walking with a limp and a cane. The actual injury is not seen, and the scene is played for laughs.

- A man falls to his death down a steep cliff. We hear him scream and see his body strike several rocks as he falls. The scene was obviously shot with a dummy, but may be frightening for children.
- Numerous shootouts take place throughout the film, many resulting in on-screen deaths. Characters also threaten one another with guns frequently.
- At one point, Native American characters shoot flaming arrows that set fire to a laundry wagon, which burns in the background of the ongoing shootout for several minutes as a character tries to put it out.
- A fistfight takes place on top of a moving train near a steep cliff, ending with a character falling to his death.
