Jaw Jaw Not War War

That seems to be the motto in this very strange Danzigers film. This supposedly is taking place just before the outbreak of war.A diplomat defects from the German embassy and the Gestapo track him down with inevitable consequences.Looking at it snow you wonder if they really meant to say Russia but thought it would be more tactful to set it in the past. The problem is that nothing ever seems to happen except people talking interminably at each other.Maybe the Danzigers hoped it would find favour with exhibitors as it would probably drive customers out of the cinema to go and buy more confectionery.Vincent Ball plays the journalist journalist trying to save the diplomat but nothing can save this film.

Better than a sleeping pill.

It's a shame, because this little film is interesting with its topic. See for yourself; German diplomats in London try to defect because they realize the criminal views of their leader, Adolf Hitler and his gang, the Nazis. So, those diplomats are chased by the Gestapo. A very rare point of view, from inside the German, nazi, point of view. And made by British B movie industry of the early sixties. But it's so boring, talkative at the most. It should have been far more exciting; it could have been. An American company would have made a different film for same story and subject. But it's worth watching if you are very awake...
