Voice actress Janet Waldo, best known for playing The Jetsons‘ far-out daughter Judy from 1962 to 1987, had died. She was 96.
Waldo’s daughter tells ABC News that her mother was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor five years ago.
Though Waldo is best-recognized as the voice of Judy, she brought dozens of cartoon characters to life during her career, which spanned from 1938 to 2000. Waldo also provided the voices of Josie and the Pussycats‘ Josie (1970-1972), Wacky Races‘ Penelope Pitstop (1968–1970), The Addams Family‘s Morticia (1973) and The Smurfs‘ Hogatha (1981–1989), to name just a few.

Top Ten TV to Film Adaptations This weekend 21 Jump Street scored the top spot at the weekend box-office and Jonah Hill and Michael Bacall are busy preparing a sequel and after posting my review someone on Twitter told me one of the reasons they liked it was because it was a huge improvement compared to most TV-to-film adaptations. While I enjoyed it, I wasn't as excited over it as some people seem to be and I never even thought to compare it to other TV-to-film adaptations, especially considering a film needs to stand on its own, whether it's simply better than other films that tried to make the leap from the small screen to the silver screen is irrelevant. But it did get me to thinking... what are the best TV-to-film adaptations? So I started the process of compiling a list and while 21 Jump Street is a good flick, it...

Some say that the best barometer for a film’s success is not the box office popularity upon release, not the reviews of critics, not the amount of awards and Oscars it wins or even how the film beds itself into the popular culture of the time. The true test, some say, is the test of time.
This is why the 20/20 Awards are so smart and fun and in its own way, significant. The awards ceremony is something of a revisionist one, they reflect back on a year in film some two decades later with the benefit of hindsight, to see what movies and performances really were the best from a particular year.
This is the 3rd time the 20/20 awards have taken place and the winners were announced last week at Seattle’s Central Cinema and incredibly as many as 8 Awards were given the ‘Felix’ statue that were also given...

You may not know her name but you certainly know her voice. Janet Waldo has been acting professionally for more than 70 years. Discovered by Bing Crosby, she worked on many radio shows and starred for eight years as teenager Corliss Archer on Meet Corliss Archer. She went on to become a staple of many classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons as the voice of Judy Jetson (The Jetsons), Nancy (Shazzan), Granny Sweet (The Atom Ant/Secret Squirrel Show), Josie McCoy (Josie and the Pussycats, Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space), Penelope Pitstop (Wacky Races, The Perils of Penelope Pitstop), and Morticia Addams (The Addams Family).
At age 87, Waldo is just as energetic as ever and her voices sounds virtually the same. I spoke to her about The Jetsons and the release of the 1988 TV movie called Rockin with Judy Jetson. But first, I had to ask Waldo about...

Meledandri follows with Hop, a live action/CG mix that bows April 2, 2011, with Russell Brand voicing the Easter Bunny. Right behind that is Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, the Ricky Gervais-created Flanimals, a new stop-motion version of The Addams Family with Tim Burton directing, and a sequel to Despicable Me, which has so...

Rod BaronBaron Entertainment, Sherman Oaks, Calif.; clients have recently booked roles on 'Californication,' 'Outsourced,' 'Terriers'The relationship between client and agent is delicate. On the one hand, there is the agent, most days too busy with the demands of the industry to take time to call or email each client to "catch up." On the other hand, there is the client, out there in the world, with many of life's distractions. Days turn into weeks, and the relationship between client and agent can go through periods when there simply is no "relationship." There is hope. Email. While we are all busy, most agents are in the office and on email at least 10 hours a day (if not 24 hours a day!). This makes it really easy to know where to find them, if they let you. We do. Maintaining a relationship with your agent in a way that is unobtrusive is key for us.
