The Black Emanuelle films aren’t really a series in the proper sense of the word. True, they all star Indonesian-Dutch actress Laura Gemser, and she usually plays a globetrotting photojournalist called Emanuelle. (The single “m” in her name was used to avoid infringing on the copyright of Just Jaeckin’s 1974 softcore sensation Emmanuelle starring Sylvia Kristel.) But there’s no notion of continuity between installments (often the product of different teams of writers and directors), and, even though a core group of actors does turn up time and again, they always play different, unrelated characters. What unites these films, apart from Gemser’s presence, is their dedication to exploring sexuality in a frank and uninhibited manner.
Severin’s new box set, The Sensual World of Black Emanuelle, brings together all 21 of the Laura Gemser films, most of them newly restored from 2K scans of the original materials, as well...

XXXTentacion would have turned 25 today, and to celebrate the late rap star‘s birthday, his estate released a touching, guitar-backed ballad featuring Lil Uzi Vert, titled “I’m Not Human.”
The opening verse starts with XXX referencing Slipknot’s “Snuff,” as he sings, “Bury all your secrets in my skin/Come away with innocence/And leave me with my sins/Air around me feels just like a cage.”
After the song’s chorus, Lil Uzi Vert joins for a second verse as they both repeat the refrain, “I’m not a human,...

There are horror movies that will give you nightmares, and cause you to fear showers and shallow waters for decades. There are some that get deep under your skin – often times because they've literally flayed or burrowed under their characters' skins – and others that will make you see everyday items (a bowl of pea soup, a hockey mask, a videotape) in a horrifying new light. And then there are the ones that push so many social-taboo envelopes, strike so many collective raw nerves and tweak so many communal gag reflexes that they are a cut,...

Blue Underground just sent over the specs and artwork for their upcoming release of the hilariously controversial flick Snuff and we've got the skinny! Guess what? There are actually extras this time!
Look for the Blu-ray and DVD in stores on October 22nd. For those of you who don't know, Snuff was originally called Slaughter - a lousy film from husband/wife filmmaker team Michael and Roberta Findlay. When Slaughter's producers deemed it unreleasable, they shelved it while searching for a way to recoup costs. Finally, producer Allan Shackleton decided to cut the film's ending off and replace it with a "real" sequence of an actress being brutally murdered behind the scenes. Hence, Snuff.
Synopsis
Deep in South America, a Manson-like cult leader named Satan cavorts with his bevy of beautiful biker-chick followers while compelling them to kill in his name. When sexy American actress Terry London arrives with producer...

Blue Underground has been absent from the high definition game for over a year now. It's no secret that declining physical media sales have probably played a part in their reduced output, and their return to the Blu-ray arena is something of an odd choice.
Blue Underground will be releasing the notorious grindhouse "classic" Snuff to Blu-ray this year. For those of you who don't know, Snuff was originally called Slaughter - a lousy film from husband/wife filmmaker team Michael and Roberta Findlay. The film's legend grew, and soon it was picketed, protested, and talked about everywhere. It's not very good, but it's an essential piece of 70s exploitation cinema.

New DVD celebrates the 80s heyday of video nasties - a genre that didn't quite corrupt the nation's youth … or its dogs
Hard to believe now, but back in the early 1980s Britain was under attack. A sustained attack from a foe more insidious and corrupting than anything that had assailed our shores before; a demonic force that destroyed our mental health, that could deprave all who came into contact with it. Highly scientific studies proved beyond all doubt the peril we were all in, especially our children and even our pets. This was the menace that came from something called a "Video Nasty".
There are two things you should know about that opening paragraph: firstly, everything in it was at one time believed by our leaders of the day (yes, even the bit about pets). And second, they were completely wrong on every count. It was a shameful period in our recent history,...
