Sex & Nudity

  • A man has his face dunked into a container of acid. His burned face is shown for a couple of seconds.
  • A man beats a teenage boy and forces him to drink chemicals. Some blood is shown on the teenager's face.
  • A dead cat is shown lying on the floor next to a puddle of blood.
  • After a fight scene in a classroom, there is blood on the blinds, curtains, floor, etc.
  • The monster jumps on the gym teacher's stomach while wearing cleats. He has a bloody stomach and is than hanged. The bloody body is briefly shown swinging on a rope.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • When the movie came out in 1973, it was originally rated X for violence then it got cut down to an R rating in 1974. When Crown International bought the movie, they cut it down even more to get a PG rating.
  • The monster may be frightening to young children.
  • The teenage boy has a rough life.
  • This is a horror movie so it is somewhat scary. The sudden noises and music in between scenes and the dark lighting of the camera may be considered frightening.
  • This movie is fairly scary because of the sudden noises, dark lighting, and drama.

Violence & Gore

  • A guina pig is smashed with a flashlight. Some blood is shown on the flashlight.
  • A skull is shown lying in a container of acid as well as eyes.
  • The monster cuts off a teacher's fingers with a paper cutter. Dismembered fingers are shown on the paper cutter board. She brushes her bloody hand on her face while screaming. Blood smears on her face. It is implied that she has been decappitated with the paper cutter as well, but this is not shown.
  • The monster is shot several times by cops in the end of the movie. He dies.
  • The monster beats a bully, but does not kill him.
