Marvel Comics' "Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain" #1, available February 22, 2023, is written by Tini Howard and illustrated by Vasco Georgiev, with a cover by Erica D'Urso:
"...the 'Captain' comes home. And she's got a whole new mission. With 'Otherworld' settled, 'Braddock Manor' restored and her brother 'Captain Avalon' at her side, you'd think things look pretty good for 'Betsy Braddock'.
"Only it turns out, good ole Britain doesn't want her back. No one wants a mutant menace carrying the shield of 'Captain Britain' and Betsy's made more than a few enemies along her way. Now quest-less and country-less, Betsy must define a role for herself..."

The recent Knights of X #1 marks a new chapter in the ongoing saga of Betsy Braddock, the mutant telepath once known as Psylocke of the X-Men and currently serving as Captain Britain. The final issues of Excalibur saw the conquest of Otherworld, Marvel’s version of the realm of faerie magic, at the hands of Merlyn and King Arthur. This cut Otherworld off from Krakoa, effectively isolating Betsy and the rest of the Captain Britain Corps there. Luckily, she’s got some help! Roma, Merlyn’s daughter and a friend to the X-Men from days past, gives Betsy the chance to assemble a team for a proper Arthurian quest to find the artifact known as the Siege Perilous.
There’s just one question newer readers may be wondering…
What the Heck Is the Siege Perilous?

Marvel Comics’ “Knights of X” #01, available April 27, 2022 is written by Tini Howard and illustrated by Bob Quinn, with covers by Jenny Frison, Yanick Paquette, Tom Muller, Rod Reis, Stephen Segovia, Meghan Hetrick, Felipe Massafera and Skottie Young:
“…the quest begins here, where mutants are hated and feared once again! The gates to ‘Otherworld’ are closed -- and ‘Captain Britain’ is trapped on the wrong side!
“Usurpers ‘Merlyn’ and his right-hand man, ‘King Arthur’, are now in control of ‘Lunatic Citadel’. ‘Furies’ the size of ‘Sentinels’ raze villages to the ground in their hunt for the ‘witchbreed “Cut off from ‘Krakoa’, ‘Betsy Braddock’ is Otherworld's only hero -- and to save her people, Betsy must recruit a round table of her own.
“Now the ‘Knights of X’ gather to restore the rightful order and rescue desperate mutants -- but their quest is about to get so much bigger than that.

The moment Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart” played, it was clear things weren’t going to go as planned for Dan and Melody in the Season 1 finale of Netflix’s wildly popular sci-fi drama Archive 81.
The installment began with Jess recording Melody on her Fisher Price Pxl 2000 camera. This turned out to be the same camera Jess would use to record the cult’s ritual ceremony at the Visser when Melody and Samuel got pulled into the Otherworld, with creepy Iris there to guide the way. (More on that in a bit).

This article contains spoilers for Archive 81.
Like all great horror stories, Netflix’s Archive 81 starts off small.
Film conservator Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie) is approached by a mysterious corporate benefactor, Virgil Davenport (Martin Donovan) to restore some tapes from the ‘90s. Somehow this simple job escalates into a pulse-pounding supernatural mystery that incorporates a Roaring Twenties era demonic cult, mold that bends time and space, and an honest-to-goodness Lovecraftian horror.
It’s easy to see why Archive 81 has caught on with viewers. The show spent several days in the number one spot on Netflix’s “Top Ten” feature before Ozark bumped it down to two. This story, based on a podcast of the same name, slowly unspools into something properly huge. By the time Dan wakes up in the ‘90s in the final moments of season 1 to watch MTV’s Kurt Loder announce Kurt Cobain’s death,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched the finale of Netflix’s “Archive 81.”
After eight episodes of slowly unraveling its cult-centric mysteries and building up its mold-laced mythology, Netflix’s “Archive 81” concluded its first season with a twist that flipped the tape over for a potential second season: Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie) crossed into The Otherworld controlled by the demon/god Kaelego to rescue Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi). On their way out, Dan was shoved back into the post-Visser-apartment-building-fire timeline in 1994 New York City, while Melody was dragged by cult-leader Samuel (Evan Jonigkeit) through the present-day door Dan had entered.
And yes, Dan really has been blasted into the past, and is not trapped in The Otherworld being fooled with another one of Kaelego’s close-enough-to-reality fantasies, according to “Archive 81” showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine.

After 22 chapters, Marvel’s massive X-Men crossover event, X of Swords has come to a close, and with it, the Dawn of X era. The story touched every book in the X-Men family and brought us answers to a few of the lingering questions that were casually tossed at the audience during House of X/Powers of X. But X of Swords asked more questions than it answered. And heading into the next phase of X-Mastermind Jonathan Hickman and the rest of the magnificent team of X-Men creators’ big plan, that’s a very good thing.
To set the stage going into Reign of X, we’ve decided to lay out some of the big questions asked in X of Swords (and by the Reign of X teaser image you see at the top of the page).

This article contains spoilers for recent Marvel X-Men stories.
A long time ago, back at the beginning of the interminable, endless month of March that the pandemic has trapped us in, Marvel’s X-Men books were barrelling towards their first big post-Dawn of X crossover, X of Swords. And then the world stopped, and plans changed for the X-Men while everything was paused.
Now that we’re back, plans have changed, and books are coming fast and furious. So what’s going on with Marvel’s Merry Mutants? Which book did Storm get sick in? What book should you read for a good Laksa recipe? New Mutants, but we can answer all your other questions on what’s going on with the X-Men below.
While we won’t rehash the entire thing, House of X/Powers of X reset the entire X-Men line. Mutants can’t die anymore. The X-Men,...

Marvel announced the first major crossover of Jonathan Hickman’s Dawn of X era of X-Men. X of Swords will tie all the X-titles together in a ’90s throwback, 15-part crossover touching every single book in the line.
“One of the cool things we are able to do now, because we’ve established the X-line and really know where we’re going, is that we’re able to try some different things out,” Hickman said in a statement. “X of Swords will be an old school crossover that meanders through the entire line. It’s almost like chapters of a story.”
Hickman, you’ll recall, reinvigorated the X-Men line with House of X and Powers of X. And like Powers of X, X of Swords is using the Roman numeral X as a sort of low-nerdy double entendre. Where Powers of X examined four time periods of exponential scales, X...

If nothing else, Danny Boyle’s latest film “Yesterday” has one hell of an interesting premise: a regular guy with a middling music career (the very charming Himesh Patel) gets hit by a bus during a curious worldwide blackout, only to wake up from a brief coma to realize he’s the only person who remembers the songs of the Beatles. Soon enough, he’s sweeping the world with his special, and, to the world, novel, jams like “Yesterday” and “Hey Jude” and “I Saw Her Standing There,” among others.
