Boxing movies are always a lot of fun, usually, kind of, and they don’t need to be titled ‘Rocky’ to be this way. In 1986 the Rocky craze was already still moving forward still but had become kind of commonplace to the point that it was considered bad form to do anything that might be construed as being the same thing. Unfortunately for Streets of Gold a lot of critics and viewers went on to describe it as a Rocky knock-off and also called it a very stereotypical movie that didn’t seem to able to go the distance since the

During the 80s when you think of boxing movies you’ll always think of the Rocky franchise. But there was one boxing movie in 1986 that featured a young Wesley Snipes in only his second featured film (first one was Wildcats) called Streets of Gold. The movie stars Klaus Maria Brandauer, the Oscar winner from “Out Of Africa,” as an alcoholic former boxing champion from Russia, a Jew who was the greatest Soviet fighter of his generation but who wasn’t allowed to fight outside Russia because of his religion. Now we meet him 10 years later, stumbling through the gutters of

This weekend, Contagion spreads onto over 3,700 screens at 3,222 locations (including 257 IMAX venues) and is poised to end The Help's reign. Warrior trains to be a slow-burning crowd pleaser on close to 2,100 screens at 1,869 locations, while Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star and Creature should be contenders for the worst opening title, hitting 1,500 and 1,507 single-screen locations, respectively. With a rash of familiar faces (Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, etc.) and deadly disease thriller storyline, Contagion recalls Outbreak, only with a darker, grittier, more global bent. Back in 1995, Outbreak debuted to $13.4 million or the equivalent of nearly $25 million adjusted for ticket price inflation. Contagion's infection and potential end-of-humanity angles also echo the recent zombie craze, and the movie's even opening in the same mid-September slot that the Resident Evil franchise is known for. Contagion's diffuseness, though, may not make it a threat to September's record books.

Now that Eminem is back on top of the charts, it looks like Slim Shady isn't planning on budging anytime soon. For the third week in a row, Em's Recovery will hold on to the pole position this week, moving another 229,000 copies to push the disc close to the 1.3 million mark, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. Also not budging is Drake, whose Thank Me Later holds steady in the #2 spot thanks to 74,000 more units served for a one-month total of more than 782,000.
Coming in at the #3 position is the long-delayed official solo debut of Outkast's Big Boi, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, which sold 62,000 copies. At #10 is the latest from Enrique Iglesias, Euphoria, which had a soft landing of 27,000.

Eminem's latest studio installment "Recovery" adds 313,000 copies this week, passing a 1 million mark and earning a Platinum certification. Although the album suffers a 58 percent decline in sale number, it still manages to nab the first place on Billboard Hot 200.
"Recovery" becomes the first effort to sell more than 300,000 units in multiple weeks since Susan Boyle did such thing with "I Dreamed a Dream" in late 2009. Moreover, the June 21 release has a chance to be crowned the best-selling rap album. Last year, the rapper needed four weeks to go platinum with its predecessor "Relapse", but now it only takes him two weeks to bring home the plague.
Drake holds his runner-up position for the second week with "Thank Me Later" which shifts 105,000. The soundtrack album of "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse" jumps from No. 10 to No. 3 with 65,000. Taking the fourth spot, meanwhile, is this week's highest chart debut The-Dream's "Love King" which...

After new Drake and Eminem releases yielded huge opening numbers on the charts, things slow down a little this week. There are plenty of nice new titles arriving in stores on Tuesday, June 29, but nothing that will come remotely close to challenging either of these two titles’ reign. 3Oh!3, “Streets of Gold” (Photo Finish/Atlantic): Warped tour headliners releases third electro-pop album, which includes duet with Ke$ha, the surprisingly sweet “My First Kiss." A new music video for 3Oh!3 "My First Kiss" single that features Ke$ha has finally been released. The three-minute clip made in support of the duo's first single off their upcoming third studio album, "Streets of Gold", takes a look of a lot of folks, including punks, teachers, sailors and lesbians, smooching.
The Isaac Ravishankara-directed video gives out occasional close-up of a pair of lips. Scenes wherein duo Nathaniel Motte and Sean Foreman bounce around and throw punches at the camera are also included. Aside from the twosome, their collaborator Ke$ha also makes an appearance in the bright-colored video.
Talking about the video, Foreman previously explained to MTV News that "the video is a play on kissing in general, and lips, and getting close up to a bunch of lips, and people coming out of mouths and just, like, really cool transitions." His group mate Motte chimed in,...

The electro-punk duo (and Ke$ha) smooch subtlety goodbye in eye-popping new clip.
By James Montgomery
Subtlety has never really been 3Oh!3's strong suit.
Previous hits like "Starstrukk" and "Don't Trust Me" were unabashed odes to excess and rather wanton stupidity. "House Party," the sort-of first single off their upcoming Streets of Gold album, is about, well, throwing an awesome house party. And "My First Kiss," the proper first single from Gold, is also in keeping with that titling tradition: It's a song about kissing.
Fittingly, it has a rather eye-popping, over-the-top video, one that features a whole lot of folks smooching (geriatrics, punks, teachers, sailors, soldiers, lesbians, nerds and hirsute rockers, to name a few), some really bright colors, the occasional close-up of a pair of lips and not much else. Oh, and Ke$ha — she's in it too. The duo behind 3Oh!3 bounce around and throw punches at the camera.

"My First Kiss" which is a brand new song from 3Oh!3 has just emerged for fans' listening pleasure. The fresh material has duo Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte joining forces with Ke$ha once again.

3oh3! And Ke$ha are back again. We already know the “Don’t Trust Me” boys and the “Tik Tok” party girl are a lethal combination from her single “Blah, Blah, Blah.” Now they’re reunited for the first single from 3Oh3’s next album, “Streets of Gold,” with “My First Kiss.” Hear it here. With its handclaps and stories of making out “at the foot of the stairs, with my fingers in your hair,” it’s surprisingly sweet and innocent (despite that line about soldiers and sailors that hints as slightly sordid past). We’ve bashed Ke$ha plenty on Hitfix, but to her credit, in less...

Those 3Oh!3 guys have never really been ones for subtlety. Last week, when MTV News visited them in the studio where they were putting the finishing touches on their Streets of Gold album, it seems they were planning to "accidentally" leak a sneak peek of the album a few days later — and they weren't exactly trying to hide that fact.
Oh, and the leak in question was a song called "House Party," which is — you guessed it — about throwing a totally awesome house party.
"There may or may not be a leaked song that we accidentally slip out there on the Internet, with maybe a video, and it might be something about a house party," 3Oh!3's Nathaniel Motte smiled. "It's gonna be called 'House Party,' and someone might steal it off my...

Those 3Oh!3 guys have never really been ones for subtlety. This spring 3Oh!3 will hit the road with Cobra Starship, kicking off their tour on April 28 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. And while both bands' sounds will have their fans dancing in the aisles, they have a couple of other things in common, like a considerable height advantage on the basketball court.
"Apparently, we have a massive truck that's coming on the tour with us. People don't know that [3Oh!3 bandmate Sean Foreman is] actually tall," Nathaniel Motte said. "They think he's small, 'cause I'm tall. [He's] 6'1'' and I'm 6'7'' and I think [Cobra Starship] have a couple dudes who are, like, 6'4". We're gonna be playing basketball."
Foreman feared that the members of Cobra Starship will have the edge over them, because "collectively they're taller." But aside from coming up with b-ball strategies, 3Oh!3 have...

3Oh!3 has another collaboration with Ke$ha and they plan to include it in their next studio album "Streets of Gold". They actually recorded the song during their first meeting with Ke$ha before she stormed the chart with her hit single "Tik Tok".
"We were working with our buddy Benny Blanco and Dr. Luke [on 'Kiss'], and we had a line for the song," Sean Foreman recalled to MTV. "It's kind of a call and response, and Luke's like, 'I know this girl.' We worked with her and we got a friendship since then."
Nathaniel Motte added his bandmate commentary by praising the "Blah Blah Blah" singer. "She's rad," he said. "The success she had with 'Tik Tok' was amazing."
"Streets of Gold" itself is due for June release. Beside Ke$ha, the duo is also down to collaborate with other artists. Sean gushed, "It's nice to work [with friends], like when...

3Oh!3 helped Ke$ha teach boys lessons on her hit "Blah Blah Blah." And she's returning the favor on the guys' next album, Streets of Gold. "First Kiss" was recorded before Ke$ha stormed the charts with "Blah," and it was actually the backdrop for the first meeting between the party-loving singer and the similarly celebration-happy duo.
3Oh!3's Sean Foreman recalled how he and bandmate Nathaniel Motte were first introduced to the "Tik Tok" singer.
