Paul Justman, director of the acclaimed 2002 documentary Standing in the Shadows of Motown as well as classic MTV-era music videos including the J. Geils Band’s “Centerfold” and Diana Ross’ “Muscles,” has died at his home in the Hollywood Hills. He was 74.
His March 7 death was announced by his brother, the J. Geils keyboard player Seth Justman, to The New York Times for an obituary today.
Named Best Non-Fiction Film of 2002 by the New York Film Critics, among other awards including two Grammys, Standing in the Shadows of Motown chronicled the story of the Funk Brothers, the legendary, if at the time largely unknown, studio musicians who played on numerous Motown hits. The film gave long overdue credit to musicians Jamerson, Jack Ashford, Bob Babbitt, Joe Hunter, Uriel Jones, Joe Messina, Eddie Willis, Richard “Pistol” Allen, Benny “Papa Zita” Benjamin, Eddie “Bongo” Brown, Johnny Griffith, Earl Van Dyke and Robert White,...

Ron Burgundy has a special message for all you Trick 'R Treaters who are going out to celebrate Halloween tonight. I love Halloween, but I also think it's funny because it goes against two major things we teach our kids growing up: Don't talk to strangers, and definitely don't take candy from strangers.
Anchorman 2: The Legend of Ron Burgundy comes out in theaters on December 20th!

Last week, we got our first look at Lock-Out, a new sci-fi movie produced by Luc Besson (The Transporter, Columbiana), in the form of an international teaser trailer that contained virtually no plot and only a smidgen of special effects, but a whole lot of British actor Guy Pearce looking tough, delivering quippy dialogue, and getting his face bashed in.
Now, a French theatrical trailer (in English) for the movie has been released that offers a brief explanation of the plot — the president's daughter (Maggie Grace) is trapped aboard an orbiting prison when a riot breaks out and only a wrongly convicted spy (Pearce) is desperate enough and crazy enough to attempt a rescue mission — more sci-fi goodness (cryogenic prison cells, spaceships, etc.); and much more of what was great about the teaser trailer: Pearce acting tough and delivering cheeky dialogue like, "Here's an apple and a gun. Don't talk to strangers; shoot them.

Friends, disciples and fans throughout the heavy metal community are remembering the late Ronnie James Dio as not only one of the best but one of the kindest vocalists in history. The singer for Black Sabbath, Rainbow and of course, Dio, succumbed to cancer on Sunday at age 67.
"The world has lost a real talent and a genuinely great man," Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor said in an e-mail to MTV News. "Words cannot describe my sadness and music will never be the same without his voice and honesty. He will always be an icon to heavy metal and hard rock. On behalf of all of the fans and the singers inspired by his life, we will miss you, Ronnie."
