Celebrities will share paranormal encounters on the upcoming Travel Channel series Famously Afraid. The new series premieres Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 10 p.m.
"Hollywood is no stranger to stories of the unexplained being played out on the big screen," reads the press statement. "But behind the scenes, some celebrities experience encounters with the unknown that are all too real. From haunted houses to real UFO sightings, to demonic possessions and beyond, these stories show that even celebrities can get spooked.

Exclusive: This is a neat casting — the CW Nancy Drew pilot is giving a nod to the TV history of the iconic character by recruiting Pamela Sue Martin.
Martin, who will guest star in the pilot, played the brilliant teen sleuth in the first (and to date most successful) TV series adaptation of the Nancy Drew books, The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, which ran from 1977-79 on ABC. She will appear alongside newcomer Kennedy McMann, who is taking the mantle of playing the amateur detective.
Written by Noga Landau, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage and directed by Larry Teng, the CW’s untitled Nancy Drew project, from Schwartz and Savage’s Fake Empire and CBS TV Studios, centers on 18-year-old Nancy Drew (McMann) and is set in the summer after her high school graduation. She thought she’d be leaving her hometown for college, but when a family tragedy holds her back another year,...

By the early 1970s there had been a revival of interest in the format of anthology suspense/horror stories. This genre had been all the rage in the late 1950s and early 1960s with shows like "The Twilight Zone", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "Thriller!" (hosted by Boris Karloff) attracting loyal audiences. "Twilight Zone" creator and host Rod Serling had two bites at the apple when he introduced "Night Gallery" as a TV movie in 1969 (giving young Steven Spielberg his first major directing gig) and then spun it off into a moderately successful weekly TV series. The early to mid-1970s also saw a major resurgence in horror-themed anthology feature films. The concept was hardly a new one for the big screen as the first major film of this type was "Dead of Night", released in 1945. Roger Corman oversaw some similarly-themed big screen anthologies in the early to mid-1960s,...
