Sex & Nudity

  • A boy's mother makes comments that her ex-husband's new girlfriend is much younger than the husband is - "old enough to drink", to which the boy replies, "but she doesn't". The girlfriend is said to be 23.
  • A woman is seen sunbathing in a skimpy bikini.
  • There are some gay sexual slur references made by the bullies because of Dexter's disease, AIDS.
  • When Erik and Dexter are on the boat, they find a Playboy magazine. Although nothing is shown, it is clearly noticable that it is a Playboy magazine.

Violence & Gore

  • Scenes of child abuse; a boy's mother grabs his head by his ears and yells at him, and later slaps him and is seen grabbing him by the arm and dragging him.
  • A boy is hit in the back of the head with a rock.
  • A little old lady is nearly hit with a shopping cart.
  • Erik and Dexter are being chased by some people from the boat because of the money stolen. One person has a penknife and attempts to use it. Dexter is seen with his own knife too and cuts himself with it.

Profanity

  • "Uses of "shit", "faggot", "homo", "queer", "ass", "asshole", "midget", "bastard", "piss" and "crap".
  • Some mild name-calling, "dork", "fairy", "ugly", etc.
  • A boy gives the middle finger to a garbageman.
  • Some explicitives are used when Erik confronts the bullies.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A woman drinks wine from glasses, and later straight from the bottle. She is implied to be an alcoholic, and this is later confirmed when a boy points out that his father's girlfriend doesn't drink the way his mother does.
