Mike Tyson was once the baddest man on the planet as the heavyweight boxing champion.
But at age 57, and better known for his roles in such projects as The Hangover films and the Mike Tyson Mysteries TV series over the last 19 years, Tyson has raised concerns that he’s making a big mistake by returning to boxing.
Tyson is set to fight YouTube sensation Jake Paul on July 20. It’s not an exhibition – the match is commissioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations as a professional fight.
Paul, age 27, is 9-1 in his career with six knockouts against a mix of celebrities and middling fighters, his only loss a split decision to Tommy Fury, brother of current heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
Despite Paul’s lack of top opponents, and Tyson’s 50-6 record with 44 knockouts, there is concern among the older boxer’s peers.

Mike Tyson made a rewarding transition to acting after years spent being one of the top boxers in the world. But one role Tyson wanted to play might surprise you.
Mike Tyson was interested in playing this Shakespeare character Mike Tyson | David Livingston/FilmMagic
After retiring from boxing, Tyson spent time carving out his acting portfolio. He appeared in projects like The Hangover and Law & Order. He also voiced his own animated cartoon show, Mike Tyson Mysteries, on Adult Swim. Although Tyson starred in comedies, he never fancied himself as a comedy actor. Rather, Tyson wanted to stretch his range by adopting a large variety of roles.
“I never look at myself as a comedy type of guy. I just do what the director tells me to do. But I would definitely like to play different types of roles. I like stage acting. That’s really who I am,...

Irrespective of how much the vastness of the cosmos has been explored in the pop culture landscape in recent years, the classic alien invasion plots as staple sci-fi stories will never lose their thrill factor when done right. Speaking of sci-fi classics, Apple TV+ has been on a hot streak of releasing some of the best adaptations of the genre. Although the extraterrestrial attack-oriented series Invasion doesn’t fall into the category of direct adaptation, the influence of War of the Worlds is easily identifiable from the character tropes, set design, and narrative structure.
The first season of Invasion, consisting of ten episodes, boasts enough star power and budget to amaze viewers but fails to bring anything innovative to the genre. The basic premise of the series revolves around the perspectives of different people around the Earth during the ongoing extraterrestrial attack and how it continues to affect their lives in the long run.

Jamie Foxx seems to finally be on the mend, with him posting a video on Instagram that – for the first time – addresses the health challenge that sidelined him for months. You can see the video below, but Foxx, while not getting into specifics, says he went to “hell and back”, but also throws cold water on some of the rumors, notably that he went blind and became paralyzed. “Now, you know, by being quiet sometimes things get out of hand. People saying what I got, some people said I was blind, but as you can see … the eyes are working just fine. Said I’m paralyzed — I’m not paralyzed.” Foxx also thanked his family and doctors for not only supporting him, but also allowing him privacy from the media as he fought to regain his health. Check out the video here:

I didn’t even know he was ill. When Wes Craven’s passing was announced I was numb. The gravity of the loss felt in the film world was palpable, especially in horror. Mr. Craven was one of us, a great champion of the genre. And for those that called him a hack – and there were a few – if they didn’t know it then, know it now, and remember it forever - he revived the genre not once but twice.
Slashers had choked like weeds all the freshness from horror until Mr. Craven came along with the startlingly original A Nightmare on Elm Street. And then, in the 90’s as we wept for anything fun in the genre, he came roaring back with the astounding Scream and revitalized the genre, again.

Let us play the “Name Game”, shall we? Since we all are part of the experience here at the entertainment website known as Sound on Sight maybe we should pay homage to our online destination by celebrating it in an unconventional manner? Specifically, we can recognize Sound on Sight by acknowledging movie names that contain the words “sound” and “sight” in their titles.
However you may perceive this experimentation as being rather gimmicky and silly please realize that this movie column is also a means to recognize a few movie titles that are unfamiliar or perhaps a first-time discovery to some of you out there that never heard some of these cinematic selections. There may be a couple of well-known films in the bunch but collectively the features being mentioned in Sound on Sight: Top 10 Random “Sound” and “Sight” Movie Titles are aptly presented based on the theme at hand.
