"Come On Down, The Price Is right"

I remember The Price Is Right very well and always watched it on Saturday evenings when it was normally on.

Four people would be called to "Come On Down" to play the rounds and before getting to a particular game, they would have to guess the price of an item. They would get through to the next round if they got the closest guess and would also win the item. A bonus if they got the correct price.

Games in this included Supermarket, and one where a person is climbing a mountain if they got price guesses wrong and would lose the game if the person fell off. Those were the days.

This show was hosted by the late Leslie Crowther. In the 1990's, Brue Forsyth revived the show but as half hour episodes instead of an hour. This was still good though and Brucie did a good job.

Price is Right, The - Presenters, Then and Now

I thought 'Price is Right' was based on a US format, but going by the lack of comments here, I must be wrong. It is still running, long after the death of Leslie Crowther. It's now presented by another veteran of the same era, Bruce Forsyth.
