The New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge was unanimously voted as the American League’s Rookie of the Year on Monday.
Judge is the first Yankees player to receive the award since Derek Jeter in 1996, according to Espn. The 6-foot-7 athlete is also a finalist for the American League’s Mvp award.
“It’s a dream come true — an amazing feeling,” Judge told Espn’s SC6 on Monday. “Just to be mentioned with the other two candidates as well is kind of an honor with the season they had. I’m just blessed to be in this position.”

To paraphrase everyone’s favorite “Game of Thrones” star, Ed Sheeran: HBO is on its way to another castle on Nielsen hill.
(Apologies for that.) After three days worth of time-shifted DVR and VOD usage, last Sunday’s Season 7 premiere of “Game of Thrones” jumped to a 5.6 rating among adults 18-49, obliterating everything in its path. That was up 19% from the show’s already strong live+same day number.
What’s more, the rebroadcasts that night of last year’s finale, as well as the premiere (which repeated at 10:05 p.m. Et) also made it into the week’s top 25 adults 18-49 chart.
Earlier in the week, HBO reported that the Season 7 premiere reached a gross audience of 16.1 million viewers (Linear Plays + Same Day DVR Playback + Hbogo/HBO Now) up 50 percent from last year’s premiere. Per HBO, that performance set a record as the most watched premiere...

Monday’s WWE Raw episode did 3.54 million viewers. That’s the second lowest number in the last seventeen years, for an episode that wasn’t on a holiday date or football game. It is down from last week’s 3.647 million viewers.
However, the numbers were expected to be down, due to the Mlb coverage of the All Star Game Home Run Derby. That event ended up doing 7.162 million viewers over on Espn.
The positive for WWE is that the numbers increased by the hour –
8 p.m. 3.43 million viewers
9 p.m. 3.51 million viewers
10 p.m. 3.65 million viewers
But the bad news is that this was a heavily promoted go-home show for Battleground. It had been announced in advance that Brock Lesnar was going to be there, with the idea that he’s a draw for viewers. Yet the number of people watching continues to be depressingly low for WWE.

The biggest sluggers in Major League Baseball blast away in the annual All-Star break Home Run Derby exhibition on Monday, July 13, beginning at 8pm Et on Espn and WatchESPN. This year’s All-Star festivities take place at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. Last year, Oakland A’s outfielder Yoenis Cespedes won the derby for the second year in a row. The Home Run Derby this year will have a different format that will hopefully speed things up and increase competition with a single elimination bracket and players seeded by the number of home runs they’ve hit so far in the … Continue reading →

The World Series got under way tonight, so Fox International Channels figured it’s a good time to unveil a long-term deal to air Mlb games in more than 30 European countries, starting with this year’s Fall Classic. The exclusive, multiplatform pact with Major League Baseball International gives Fic the rights to all Mlb games: regular season, playoffs and the All-Star Game and Home Run Derby, along with baseball-related programming from Fox and Mlb. Meanwhile, back in the States: Fox likely isn’t thrilled about that 5-0 lead the Red Sox built early and have held against the Cardinals in Game 1 of the Series. Baseball blowouts in primetime don’t exactly enthrall the demo.
