Simple the greatest ski movie every made. Part doco, part epic adventure. RIP Shane.

I really liked this movie. It was completely dated by the time I saw it but that didn't matter to me. Well put together it gives an interesting insight into the mindset of those who pursue extreme sports. They are not merely adrenalin junkies, the sports simply show a quest for freedom that evades those of us left in the hum drum of work and Mortgage's and family.

Covered are the exploits of Skiers Kayakers Snowboarders and Windsurfers. Interviews with the Legendary Scot Schmitt are also included and footage of the second ever successful attempt of skiing the schmiddy Run in the chimney is covered.

What makes this film all the more interesting is that the main man followed is Rob Gafeney a young skier and kayacker that is soon to go to medical school. This goes in sharp contrast of the notion of extreme sportsmen and women being simple adrenalin junkies with little real value in the world.

This is a constant reminder that everything is not as it may seem and that first impressions can always be deceiving.
